I was asked to decorate a cabin at a nonprofit wildlife preserve—and the challenge was clear: no budget and very little decor to work with. So I stepped in with a plan… to transform the space using thrifted finds, creativity, and about $300.
In this video, I’m making over the living room and kitchen areas of this cabin using 100% thrifted decor and what they already had on hand. Some pieces worked beautifully right away… and others needed a little (or a lot of) help to get there.
This wildlife preserve is truly something special—set on 1,800 acres in Illinois, it’s home to over 60 native species, with hiking and biking trails, six stocked fishing lakes, a working train, and a variety of lodging options. I wanted this cabin to feel just as warm and inviting as the experience they offer outdoors.
