In (Part 1), I only smeared the Chapstick across a few layers of the cotton, balled it up, and unsuccessfully tried to ferro rod ignite it. In (Part 2), I fully worked the Chapstick into the cotton fibers and it fired right up. I knew it was supposed to work. I've made Chapstick work before and... lard, bacon grease, hamburger grease, wheel bearing grease, and several kinds of oils.
