Quartz is everywhere here in Upstate SC, not so much flint and chert. That's alright because all 3 are of the same hardness... 7 on the Mohs Hardness Scale. Today I have about a 2 hour window before the rains start back again. Let's get a walk in and then practice some Flint And Steel Technique with the big ol chunk of Quartz that I just found.
