In this video, I’m doing a real-world **UniFi UDM Pro migration** and replacing my UDM Pro with a new setup using the **UniFi UCG Fiber** for **UniFi Network** and the **UNVR Instant** for **UniFi Protect**. This is not a step-by-step UniFi tutorial — it’s my actual migration process, from the old all-in-one UDM Pro setup to a new separated UniFi Network and UniFi Protect setup.
For a long time, the **UDM Pro** was the heart of my UniFi home network. It handled my gateway, routing, UniFi Network controller, and UniFi Protect setup all in one device. But with my new setup, I wanted to move away from having everything on one box and split the system into two dedicated devices: **UCG Fiber for networking** and **UNVR Instant for Protect and cameras**.
The goal was simple, but also a little risky: migrate my UniFi setup without breaking my network, losing my cameras, or creating a bigger problem than the one I was trying to solve. In this video, I go through the process of moving from the UDM Pro to the UCG Fiber and UNVR Instant, showing the real experience instead of presenting it like a perfect polished guide.
