Add a UniFi UXG-Lite To An Existing Network with a remote or an offsite controller guide. If you are using a cloud or an offsite controller you will need to user Layer 3 adoption, I do have a dedicated video just about this specific topic.
The UniFi UXG-Lite is the newest addition to the UniFi gateay lineup and unlike the UniFi Dream Machines or Dream Wall, the UniFi UXG-Lite, much like the older USG-Lite doesn't include a built-in controller. Meaning that you will need an already existing UniFi Network Controller to adopt the UXG-Lite.
In most cases, the UniFi UXG-Lite will be dropped in into an already existing network with several UniFi switches or access points that will need to communicate with the UniFi UXG-Lite instead of the existing gateway which will be taken out. The UniFi UXG-Lite includes a single 1Gbe WAN port, single 1Gbe, 1GB Memory, USB-C power port and all of the great UniFi gateway features including the ability to do full 1Gbe with IPS enabled.
