We had the incredible opportunity to hear from Oscar-winning cinematographer Lol Crawley, a Northumbria graduate, who returned to share his experience working on The Brutalist and beyond.

From breaking down scenes and techniques to sharing honest advice about the industry, this session gave us a real insight into what it takes to succeed in film. One of the biggest takeaways? The people you meet at university can shape your entire career.

Lol also spoke about the importance of confidence on set, finding your creative voice, and understanding the filmmaking process from pre-production through to production.
