WTF are UCAS Tariff points? 😵💫
Basically universities use them to check if you meet their course entry requirements. UCAS Tariff points are your grades turned into numbers. Yep… maths (sorry)! BUT not every qualification has them, some do, it just depends.
To make things a little simpler you can use the UCAS Tariff Calculator or scroll the Tariff table on their website!
And FYI: even if your qualification has no points, Northumbria might still say yes so get in touch. 👀
Oh, and remember to always double check entry requirements and what qualifications universities accept

We get it. Knowing what your grades mean as you UCAS Tariff points can be a little confusing. UCAS Tariff points are basically a way of turning your grades and qualifications into numbers, cause who doesn't love a little bit more maths, am I right? Oh, and to make it a little bit more ‘hurts my brain’ not every qualification has points. But some do, and this depends on what you studied and the grade that you got. Unis then use these points to see if you've met the entry requirements for your course. If you're not sure how many points you've got you can go to the UCAS website and use the UCAS Tariff calculator or just simply have a scroll through the Tariff table to have a look for your qualifications. Good to note, even if your qualifications don't have tariff points attached, at Northumbria, we still consider applications that have similar level quals that you've studied. Oh, and always make sure it's double check the course details to see what the university actually accepts.
