Regarding the last bit in the title, Riptide Resurgence was discontinued in December, but as of January 16, 2024, the developers have decided to occasionally update it.

Riptide Resurgence is basically just another Flood Escape 2 fan-game, like Liquid Breakout (at the time of writing this, I didnt know the... situation was fully settled, mb). It has every gimmick FE2 has, and adds in air-dashing (mostly in harder maps) and auto-wall-jumping. Theres also new events to make the game much harder, like Banana Rain (exactly what it sounds like), and a new type of event that can completely alter gameplay, like Speedster. Its not very popular, but its super fun, and I would definitely suggest trying it if youre getting a bit worn out of the usual FE2 maps, especially since this game has NONE of those! Literally every map in this game is either an old highlight (Skywork Falls, for example) or a map thats only been seen in FE2CM or other fangames (most notably, Aqua-Flame Base).
Not interested in playing speed-parkour games? Riptide also has a Battle Mode where you can duke it out with other players! It has a large variety of weapons, like the Stop Sign Axe, Splat Roller (game is inspired by Splatoon), Rocket Launcher, and Makeshift Bow. All of the maps are themed off of FE2CM maps, but the overall structure of them resembles an arena, so you dont have to worry about rising floods, except on like 1 map that Im aware off. It also has a few round types, like Deathmatch and Point Control, as well as random events that can take place which could force your loadout to be something you dont have equipped.
FINALLY - and I swear this is the last thing - there are occasional fests that you can take part in to fight against other teams to see which team is the best, similarly to Splatoons Splat Fests. If youre interested in this game, you should know that there are 5 categories that determine how well each team does. Those are the following: Pre-Fest Hype (XP gained before the fest starts), Popularity (Total number of members), Battle Wins, Escape Wins, and Triple-Team Battle Wins (Sometimes the fests are 3 teams instead of 2).")
