What was supposed to be a smooth 3.5-hour "Executive Class" journey from Kuala Lumpur to Penang turned into a 5-plus hour adventure after our train broke down. Join me as I document the entire experience—from the luxury of KL Central to being stranded in the middle of nowhere.

Executive Class Experience: Checking out the $42 first-class seats, onboard entertainment, and the (multiple!) meals served before things went sideways.
The Breakdown: Sitting in the middle of the Malaysian countryside for over an hour and eventually switching to a different train to finish the trip.
The Inconvenience "Compensation": Seeing what KTM provides when your express journey is delayed by two hours.
Arriving in Georgetown: Navigating the ferry in the rain, exploring the famous street art murals, and a "room reveal" of my $17/night loft for the month.
Despite the mechanical failure, Malaysia continues to surprise me with its incredible transit (even when it breaks!) and its artsy, small-town vibes in Georgetown.
