In today’s episode, I’m in Forest Grove, Oregon at Phil’s 1500 Subs taking on their giant “Subzilla” deli sandwich challenge!
Phil’s 1500 Subs is a popular local sandwich shop known for its fresh, made-to-order subs and laid-back atmosphere. Established in 1989, it’s been a staple in the community for decades, serving up stacked sandwiches loaded with meats, cheeses, and toppings. Huge thank you to Phil and his son Brandon, the owner, for the amazing food and hospitality!
Phil’s 1500 Subs’ “Subzilla” Challenge features a giant deli sandwich loaded with every meat on the menu: ham, turkey, roast beef, bacon, pepperoni, cotto, capicola, Genoa salami, and pastrami. It’s stacked with three cheeses: provolone, Swiss, and cheddar, then topped with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mayo, horseradish, salt, pepper, and finished with oil and vinegar. Along with the sandwich, I also have to finish a bag of chips and a large drink. I’ve got 40 minutes to finish everything to get the $40 meal free, a bunch of merch, and my photo on the Wall of Fame!
