Today, April and I went shopping in Dumaguete and experienced two very different sides of grocery shopping in the Philippines.
We started at a Western-style grocery store, then headed to the Dumaguete Public Market to see what the local market had to offer. While both places have their advantages, the public market gives you a completely different experience—and it's one of my favorite ways to get a feel for everyday life in the Philippines.
Our main mission at the market was to find **Lapu-Lapu**, which is known as grouper where I'm from. I knew it was available here, but I wasn't prepared for the price of fresh Lapu-Lapu!
