Trouble in Paradise? 😅
I woke up excited for an ADV160 adventure to Moalboal and another destination I've been wanting to explore. Everything was packed, the route was planned, and I was ready to hit the road...
Then reality had other plans.
❄️ The hot water heater died, so the day started with an ice-cold shower.
🔋 The ADV160 battery was completely dead.
🔧 I visited multiple mechanic shops and stores searching for jumper cables or anyone who could help, but no luck.
🏠 I had already paid for an Airbnb and ended up canceling the trip because I couldn't get the bike started.
Instead of letting the day beat me, I decided to tackle another problem and replace the broken water heater. That turned into another adventure when none of my masonry bits could drill through the bathroom tile. After visiting store after store searching for the right drill bit, I was beginning to wonder if anything was going to go my way.
Thankfully, the next day things finally turned around. A friend let me borrow a jump box, the ADV fired right up, and after riding for a while the battery came back to life. Even better, after searching everywhere, I finally found the right drill bit, installed the new water heater, and ended the saga with something I hadn't had in days...
A hot shower. 😂
Sometimes travel isn't about perfect beaches and scenic roads. Sometimes it's about keeping a good attitude when everything seems determined to go wrong. Those unexpected moments often become the best stories.
