Today’s flintknapping session is all about the stone. In this video I work some incredibly colorful Coastal Plains chert with deep purples, reds, blues, and soft pastel tones while shaping it down into a biface. Sometimes the best part of knapping is just watching the material come alive with every flake removed, and this stone definitely delivered.
No big challenge or tutorial this time — just good rock, good flakes, and a relaxing Gulf Coast knapping session focused on the beauty hidden inside the chert.
