I am building a covered concrete firepit area into the hillside behind my house. I start by digging out the area with a small backhoe attachment on a skidsteer, which needs a small repair job first. Once I have the area excavated, I bring in some gravel and compact it. Next I built the circular form and added rebar. Last, I pour the concrete and finish it.
