In the 3rd episode of the Creed series, Bishop Alexei of Sitka and Alaska speaks about belief in One God the Father Almighty. He discusses why we say I believe, rather than we believe. Among other insights, he mentions that "this belief can have a profound and life-altering impact upon those who profess it, for it means that we have a relationship, a personal relationship with the source of all that is and the One who is more than all that is. And that relationship furthermore means that we are loved and precious in God’s sight.
His flock is scattered among the vast lands of the State of Alaska, and for anyone that has traveled in the state, especially to the villages, knows the cost of traveling is VERY expensive. To give you an idea of how much it costs to get out to the villages, if you wanted to buy a box of laundry detergent, that would cost you a whopping $80! Now put that into travel costs for a flight out, lodging, food, etc, It is quite staggering.
