3D scanning has come a long way, to be able to do this type of scanning at home and send it directly to the 3D printer software with no trouble makes 3D scanning so much more fun. I've scanned objects before to design around, but never scanned for the purpose of printing. Each time I scan, I get better results. This scanning process took about 5 minutes, the setup took about 10 minutes, the uploading took about 10 minutes. Making this video took far longer of course. The 3D scanning process itself is pretty quick with the right setup. If you do have shiny objects, I use different colours of spray paints to help. I also use baby powder with pretty good results as well.
As usual, I am printing with my Ender 3 V2, I still have the Voron M4 mounted and working great.
This video was an idea I had on Oct 30th, so please forgive some of the camera work, I wanted to get it released on time.
