Previously I archived the Hyrule Warriors remaster for the Switch and today I take a look at it's spiritual successor in the form of Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity. This game serves as a prequel to The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild and tells the story of the war against Calamity Ganon.
One thing that I immediately want to say is that it actually does one thing better than Breath of the Wild and that is present way more cutscenes and storytelling. Now the story itself is not that special, but it is very cool to see many cutscenes with all your favorite characters and witness epic battles play out before your eyes. Breath of the Wild could have used more story and voiced cutscenes in my opinion.
Age of Calamity presents an awesome campaign where you get to fight in familiar locations and can partake in tons of side content to upgrade stats and characters. There are even levels where you get to control the Divine Beasts and absolutely destroy your enemies with ease. This is definitely one of the better Dynasty Warriors type games out there and I am very excited for the new Hyrule Warriors coming later this year.
