People often wonder how my fans look SO good. Well, they ought to when every individual piece gets a spa day before ever showing complete on camera! For well over a decade, almost every used fan shown on my channel has been cleaned inside and out to the highest standard. My goal is for it to look like new, and that’s why they so often do.
*DISCLAIMER* This video is not to be taken as a cleaning tutorial that can be applied to ALL fans. After cleaning HUNDREDS of fans through the years, I know precisely which cleaners, tools, and processes can be used for cleaning varying materials and finishes without damaging them. And still to this day, sometimes I’ll make a mistake or run into something new. You can’t just dunk anything in water. You can’t degrease every finish with the same cleaning solution if you want the lacquers or fragile paint to survive. You can’t scrub everything using a dense brush without scratching it. You can't just put whatever moisture you want on every type of blade finish! My approach is to always start on the gentle and conservative end, and only push to more aggressive methods when there is no other option and there’s nothing left to lose, to avoid irreversible damage and learn what works in the process.
