Hunter Astoria 52" ceiling fan in brushed nickel. Another fan found in the trash during Cleanup Week 2022. Again, didn't need much cleaning so it was an easy one to process and get a video up. Came flush mounted, I added the downrod per usual because I prefer it. Canopy trim ring has a tab broken off so I couldn't use it. Didn't have glass so I grabbed something genuine Hunter I had on hand, which evidently wasn't a good choice for this particular fan because on high speed the turbulence of the blades makes it vibrate and tick. I'd already done most of the video so I just left it, but I did quickly try another piece of glass after and it was silent, so blame it on the glass instead of the fan. Just another reason to not like bowl lights. I can get behind the style in some scenarios, but I feel like the execution of the construction is almost always just garbage. Flimsy in most cases, to the point that the bowl never sits straight and they don't play well with pull chains. Anyways, I never cared much for this design. For some reason I don't like this blade arm style, and that paired with the bowl light more or less ruins the whole thing for me. It was a kind of cool updated take on the GE vent/filigree sideband look, which I'd probably like better paired with some other elements. Typical midrange 2000s Hunter. Decent performance, if not slightly weak in the high speed department. Very quiet, great low speed, bearings are silent. I always grab Cleanup Week Hunters for parts, if nothing else. Not sure what I'll do with this one, certainly nice enough to donate but undecided for now.
