The new Luxeed RX is coming with up to 586 horsepower, a claimed 852 kilometer range, air suspension, and serious performance hardware.
Designed with help from former Ferrari designer Werner Gruber, this new Chery and Huawei electric coupe sport utility vehicle is aiming directly at China’s increasingly competitive premium electric vehicle market.
Pre-orders for the Luxeed RX are scheduled to open in China on August 20, 2026. The new electric sport utility vehicle measures 5,020 millimeters long with a 3,000 millimeter wheelbase and combines a low fastback profile with Huawei’s next generation DriveOne electric drive technology.
The most powerful all wheel drive configuration combines a 160 kilowatt front motor with a 277 kilowatt rear motor for a total output of 437 kilowatts, or approximately 586 horsepower. The RX also features dual chamber air suspension, continuously variable damping, 6 piston front brake calipers, staggered tires, and a physical boost button capable of temporarily increasing torque by 10 percent.
Luxeed has also attracted attention with claims that the RX completed an evasive lane change at more than 250 kilometers per hour during proving ground testing. Battery options are expected to include an 81.1 kilowatt hour pack and larger configurations around 100 kilowatt hours, with the longest range version reportedly capable of reaching up to 852 kilometers under China’s Light Duty Vehicle Test Cycle.
With the Xiaomi YU7 and Voyah Passion S already competing in this segment, the Luxeed RX could become another important player in China’s performance electric vehicle market.
