![IC7300MK2 Digital Settings and Presets
This video takes a look at setting up the new ICOM IC-7300MK2 for digital modes. By the way, much of this video applies to the original IC-7300.
Well go through all of the rig settings and functions necessary for use with digital modes. Well also take a look at the preset Settings. Since this is a new rig on the market, none of the use your software packages include the mark 2, so Ill be showing you the work around to get your mark 2 working with digital software.
List of Settings:
Display Screen:
Mode = USB-D
Filter = FIL1
Bandwidth = 3.0 K
Main Settings:
SET/Function/Tuner:
a. [TUNER] Switch = Auto
b. PTT Start = ON
SET/CONNECTORS/USB AF/IF Output:
c. Output Select = AF
d. AF Output Level = 25-ish (Audio input – Speaker)
SET/CONNECTORS/MOD Input
e. USB MOD Level = 50 (Drive Level - Mic)
f. DATA MOD = USB
SET/CONNECTORS/CI-V
g. CI-V Baud Rate = (Your Choice) 19200
h. CI-V Address = 94h
SET/CONNECTORS/USB (B) Function = CI-V
Functions:
P.AMP/ATT = P.AMP1
AGC = FAST (Medium will work as well – experiment for your system)
NOTCH/NB/NR = OFF
IP+ = ON
VOX = OFF
1/ 4 = User Choice
MONI = ON
Preset 2 (Default Name “FT8” – My Name “Digi B6
** Note anything not used will be unchecked and not discussed in this list…
Preset Name: Name whatever you want
Mode: USB-D
Filter: FIL1
Filter BW: 3.0k
Filter Type (HF): Soft
USB Output Select: AF (Audio Freq)
USB AF Output Level = 25%-ish
USB MOD Level = 50% - ish
DATA MOD = USB
SSB-D TX Bandwidth = 300-2700
CI-V Baud Rate = Your choice, I prefer 19200 and avoid using Auto
CI-V Address = B6h
** Make sure you “Write” after changes
Preset 1 (Default Name “Normal” – My Name “Digi 94”
Same as above, except change Preset Name to Digi 94 (or whatever you want to call it. “Fred” and “Barney” work just as well as anything else…)
Also, change CI-V Address to 94h
