This a guide on replacing an LCD screen on a HP 250 G6 laptop.
For the replacement process we will need the following tools:
- Phillips screwdriver
- Plastic pick
To begin shut the laptop down and disconnect the power cord. Flip the laptop and remove the battery.
Now we can remove the bezel. Start from the left side. Gently pulling the inner edge of the bezel
away from the glass. Once the edge is unsnapped go around the perimeter unsnapping the tabs at the
top, right side and the bottom. Put the bezel aside.
Using a Phillips screwdriver remove two screws holding the LCD panel at the bottom.
The LCDs two top brackets are located under the mounting rails. Remove two Phillips screws holding
the LCD and the mounting rail at the top right corner. Remove two Phillips screw holding
the LCDs top left corner. Pull the mounting rail away from the back cover and release the
right bracket. Release the left bracket. Place the LCD on the keyboard. Using a plastic pick
gently peel off the clear tape securing the video connector.
Disconnect the video cable. Discard the old panel.
At this point the new LCD can be installed. Take the new LCD screen and place it on the keyboard.
Reconnect the video cable. Secure it with clear tape.
CAUTION! It is very important not to force any of the connectors.
You must not twist or slant the connector when plugging it in.
Lift the screen up. Pull the right mounting rail away from the back cover and place it on top of the LCD bracket
aligning mounting holes. Repeat the same action with the top left mounting rail. Replace two phillips screws at
the top left and right corners of the LCD screen. Replace two bottom screws.
Now we can test the screen. Reconnect the power cord and turn the laptop on. If the start up graphics appears
the screen is working and we can finish the installation process.
Remove the protection film. Start replacing the bezel. Start from the bottom. Press firmly snapping
the tabs back in place, then move along the perimeter. Use one hand to support the back cover and press
firmly along the bottom of the bezel.
Replace the battery. Turn the laptop on and we are done
