Dr. David G. Robertson, senior lecturer in religious studies at the Open University, has spent years studying the techniques used by figures like David Wilcock, David Icke, Whitley Strieber, and Corey Goode to assemble mass followings.
He identifies three mechanisms in particular: the construction of what he calls epistemic capital, the use of counter-epistemic strategies, and the formation of loops of epistemic seclusion.
