Sweaty palms, stiff muscles, and an imagination full of disaster: if you've ever been on stage, you probably know the feeling of performance anxiety.
Using video game technology, London's Royal College of Music has created a performance laboratory to help performers face their fears in a safe environment.
As well as mimicking the acoustics of different settings, the performance lab comes equipped with a virtual audience that can be tweaked to suit performers' needs.
Whether they want to practice facing a displeased audition panel or a standing ovation in the Royal Albert Hall, performers can prepare themselves for just about any outcome.
