Ever wondered what happens when an Olive Ash tree meets a Walnut tree and they decide to cosplay as a turtle? Well, grab your shells and join me as I woodturn a Turtle Head Lidded Box that’s more stylish than an actual turtle.
This masterpiece was born on my Harvey T60S wood lathe, shaped with the trusty Easy Wood Tools carbide cutters (because sharp things make happy turners). I sanded it smooth to 240 grit with Klingspor abrasives, then gave it the spa treatment with Yorkshire Grit abrasive paste. Finally, I dressed it up with a coat of Hampshire Sheen High Gloss wax—because every turtle head deserves to shine!
