We saved Diva, a registered thoroughbred mare, from slaughter in the summer. After prolonged exposure to muddy conditions, she pulled up lame on a front foot already damaged from a past injury.
Our vet said her soles were so soft from all the moisture, she'd punctured her sole just above the coffin bone.
This is our battle to keep Diva from getting an abscess that could spread up the hoof wall.
