Denise Thorsen, the director of the Alaska Space Grant and Alaska NASA EPSCoR programs and a professor of electrical and computer engineering, talks about the necessary steps required to communicate with a satellite. She explains the many languages that need to be coded and some of the differences between them. She presented the talk, "How to talk to a Satellite" on February 18, 2020 in Fairbanks, Alaska as part of the Science For Alaska Lecture Series.
