Flying a "cheater quad" requires a few simple but very important settings in your radio. In my example, with a front facing and a rear facing FPV camera, the pitch and roll axis have to be reversed whenever the rear camera is used for flying backwards with the quad.
Aside from the basic channel mixing, I find the use of a momentary switch with a latched function very convenient for two reasons: it is on my right hand side (MODE 2) and it requires very little hand movement, which makes switching between forward and backwards flying smoother.
My setup uses a 3-position switch that controls camera switching and channel mixing. At its low (1000us) and mid (1500us) positions, the front camera and forward flying mixes are selected. At its high (2000us) position, the rear camera and backwards flying mixes are selected. When it is at the mid (1500us) position, I can switch between the forward and backwards settings just by flicking the momentary switch of my radio, without the need to hold it in place.
The idea behind this setup applies to other cheater quad / multi-camera combinations, for example 3D flying with a camera facing the right side up and another camera facing upside down (both at the front) - you will have to adjust the mixes accordingly.
Tip: you can use the OSD of your FPV cameras and select a pilot name "F" for the front camera and "R" for the rear camera, if you find it confusing and want to know which side you are flying.
