To replace your flapper, turn off the water supply to your toilet. Flush and hold the lever down to drain to water from your tank. Unhook the flapper chain from the flush lever.
To uninstall the old flapper, unhook or unclip the flapper from the flush valve. If the valve seat is dirty, wipe it off with a cloth or paper towel. Install your new flapper by attaching the flapper ears to the tabs of the flush valve. Attach the flapper chain to the flush lever with minimal slack. Trim any excess chain. Turn the water supply on and let the tank refill.
