Hello and welcome to Korky Toilet Repair. Today we are going to install your new Korky 3-inch universal flapper.
The first step is to shut off the water supply to your toilet. Next, flush your toilet. Several popular toilet models are printed on the back of the packaging. If your toilet model number appears in the card, adjust the white band to align the arrow with the number on the cone.
The toilet brand can usually be found between the toilet seat and the tank. Toilet model numbers are often stamped on the inside back wall of the tank. Remove the old flapper and install the Korky 3-in universal flapper by attaching the flapper ears to the tabs on the flush valve. Then attach the flapper chain to the flush lever with minimal slack. Congratulations. You have just installed your Korky 3-in universal flapper.
If you have a two-piece Kohler® toilet with a 3-in flapper, rotate the legs to fit the flush valve.
For some Mansfield® toilets made after 2008, one flush valve peg may be larger than the other. Remove the red arm that is attached to that peg, and install the black arm by sliding it over the rubber post and pulling it tight. Then attach the flapper chain to the flush lever with minimal slack. Congratulations, you have just installed your Korky 3-inch universal flapper.
If your toilet model is not listed, mark the water level in the tank with a pencil and drain the excess water. Remove the old flapper and install the Korky 3-in universal flapper by attaching the flapper ears to the tabs on the flush valve. Then attach the flapper chain to the flush lever with minimal slack.
Turn the water supply on and let the tank refill completely. Now turn the water supply off and flush. If the water level drops within a 1/2 inch of the pencil mark, your installation is complete. If the water level is above the pencil mark, remove the flapper and adjust the white band to the next highest number.
Repeat this process until the water level drops within a half inch of the pencil mark. Congratulations, you have just installed your Korky 3-inch universal flapper. Thank you for choosing Korky.
