How to Use Front and Back Cameras Together for Video on Samsung Galaxy S26, S26 Plus and S26 Ultra
Learn how to record video using the front and back cameras together on the Samsung Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra Camera.
Samsung calls this feature Dual recordings. It lets you record video from two cameras simultaneously, making it useful for vlogging, reaction videos, tutorials, interviews, demonstrations, travel videos, and other situations where you want to capture yourself and your surroundings at the same time.
To use Dual recordings, open the Camera app and select Video mode. On supported Galaxy S26 series software, tap Quick Controls and select the Dual recordings icon. You can then choose the available camera combination and viewing layout before you start recording.
Depending on the available options, you can use a picture-in-picture layout, where one camera appears in a smaller window over the main video, or a split-screen layout where both camera views appear together.
If you want the front camera to show you while the rear camera records the scene in front of you, position the phone so both views are properly framed. Check the preview carefully before pressing the Record button.
For a better recording, use good lighting and keep the phone steady. A tripod or stable phone mount is useful for interviews, tutorials, demonstrations, and longer recordings. Keep the camera lenses and microphone openings clean and avoid accidentally covering either camera with your fingers.
Samsung also provides options for saving Dual recordings. Depending on the available Camera settings, you can save the recording as previewed or save the individual camera recordings as separate files. Separate files are useful when you want to edit the front-camera and rear-camera footage independently.
If Dual recordings is not visible, check the Camera app's Video mode and Quick Controls. On newer Samsung software, Dual rec can be integrated into Video mode. Camera Assistant may also provide an option to add Dual rec as an additional camera mode, depending on the device and software version.
If the feature does not work correctly, restart the phone, check for software updates, make sure sufficient storage is available, and try a short test recording. Camera options can vary according to the Galaxy model, One UI version, Camera app version, and selected recording mode.
For important recordings, always make a short test first. Confirm that both the front and back camera views are recording correctly and check the saved video in Gallery before starting the actual recording.
