Hello everybody, my last video was about the socialist revolution being inevtable. But sadly I was very vague on how to reach that state or what a revolution would look like. I made videos on so many ideologies but never properly explained how they would look step by step in the real world.
Often times when talking to socialists they talk about their ideology and their ultimate goal, but not how to get there. The left has a very solid "Pick ideology", "???" and "Utopia" plan, though some add socialism before the utopia.
So in this video I will discuss some of those ways we can replace the question marks with concrete steps and I will even give you my own thoughts, a sort of, video on vikiist revolution. But of course, this video is purely hypothetical, under no circumstances should you partake in illegal political activism. I must stress that this video is a thought experiment with no relation to reality. It is also demonetised and now youtube is actually my full time job so please donate on patreon.
I think we should define what revolution we talk about. There are hundreds of kinds of revolutions, but in line with my being a commie, we will focus on *the* revolution. That is the revolution that will destroy capitalism to resolve the class conflict I talked about in the last video.
But it has to be noted that different leftists see different goals in that revolution. Some want to establish socialism and then transfer to communism, a stateless classless society where everyone is happy. But others just want to establish an economy in which the workers and communities control the factories and trade, without trying to reach a utopia. Inconveniently that situation is also called socialism.
Now if you are on the side of utopian communism or easy to implement socialism, you may think that the other group is wrong about what socialism is. They are not. Look, socialism has two different definitions because of this split.
So socialism is worker or community control of the economy, but it can also mean a transitionary step before communism. I will treat both sides of socialism equal for now even though there are massive ideological differences.
Like most of leftism the different paths to socialism follow two broad teachings, state focused or authoritarian ideas, or anarchist/libertarian ideas. For once I will explain both sides and towards the end I'll give you my hypothetical thoughts on the issue which are in no way instructions.
The first person who thought about a Marxist style socialist revolution was unsurprisingly Karl Marx. He was the one who analysed capitalist society and determined that there is no way to resole the conflicts without destroying one of the classes AND that that class must be the capitalist one. Because workers can work without capitalists, but capitalists can't work their huge factories without workers. That was my last video in 3 sentences.
Marx grew up learning about the French revolution which was only a few decades earlier and in which the peasants and working people united their forces to overthrow the oppressive feudal system in a mix of a popular uprising and later a newly formed political system that would implement the ideas of the revolutionaries and then lots of wars to spread the values around Europe.
So, when Marx was searching for a way to make the leap from capitalism to socialism he, purposefully or not, copied the French revolution. I have a video on the communist manifesto if you want more step by step details but here is broadly how Marx planned the revolution.
