Don't assume you are automatically going to have all the tools to raise your children well. It stands to reason that if we love our children, we will give them our best, but we first must understand that our best is incomplete. Often the parental goal is, "I am going to raise my children better than I was raised/ I will give them what I didn't have," but this overlooks the fact that if we were parented partially, then we are doomed to replicate the pattern in some shape or form.
