đŹđ§ In space, the prolonged stay in weightlessness modifies the vascular health of astronauts. However, far from any specialized medical team, crews must be able to carry out these measurements independently, quickly, and efficiently. How can we better monitor the cardiovascular health of astronauts in space? The S.T.A.R.L.I.N.G. team (for "Stroke volume and Thoracic electrical bioreactance: Accuracy and Responsiveness Levels In Non-terrestrial Gravity"), led by Dr. Gavin Travers, presents their innovative system, which could prove to be an answer for future missions.
That experiment flew with us during ESA's 80th science parabolic flight campaign last winter.
