Panda Cookie Pop Recipe
Makes about 2 dozen panda pops
Ingredients
3 cups flour
¾ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 T milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
White, black, and pink food color
Lollipop sticks
Heart sprinkles (optional)
Directions
1. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
2. In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream butter until smooth. Add sugar, and beat until light and fluffy. Mix in egg, milk, and vanilla extract, then add half of dry ingredients. Mix to combine, then add in remaining dry ingredients.
3. Remove cookie dough from stand mixer and reserve 1 cup of cookie dough for ears and 2 T for pink nose. Return remaining dough to stand mixer, and color white with white food color. Remove white cookie dough, then add 2 T for nose. Color dough pink and remove. Add remaining 1 cup of cookie dough to mixer, and color black. Remove the dough, and wrap all cookie dough in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
4. Preheat oven to 350F. Roll out 1.25” balls of white cookie dough, then insert lollipop stick and press onto parchment paper lined baking sheet. (Note – you must form the cookies on the baking sheet. Do not try to form them on your work surface and transfer them because they’ll be too soft). Press on an oval for the nose and two black balls for the ears. Then add eyes with black cookie dough and add a circle of white dough for the pupils. Press on heart sprinkles if desired, then bake for 10-11 minutes. Let cool completely on baking sheet before transferring to serving platter.
