In this video, I finish and assemble the components, and at long last, we have a working gauntlet. Just prior to assembly, I "blue" most of the plates using gun bluing. This mild acid solution oxidizes the steel surface, creating a mottled blue/black patina. This contrasts nicely with the highly polished components.
On to final assembly, where, rivets of different sizes and head styles are used as fasteners. The sliding rivets are of special note as they must be hammered over in such a fashion as to trap the washer, but remain loose to allow free movement between the slotted plate and the plate with a simple hole.
