Here is my tutorial on making a magnetic Moyu YAN 3 speedcube. At first, I was a little lukewarm about this cube's performance. I've completely changed my mind now. While there may be better made cubes on the market, this cube has a lot of potential, and as a magnetic cube, I think it's actually quite good, close to being on par with the Valk 3.
For this project, I used N35 4mm x 2mm magnets. I purchased these from magnets365.com as they tend to carry magnets of a higher quality than the budget priced mags you'll find on ebay. I feel the N35 is perfect for this cube.
Modding this cube is pretty straight forward. Dis-assembly is easy and there is a nice little nook inside the corner piece where we locate our first magnet. I think the instructions on the video pretty well spell everything out. However, if there is something that needs further explanation, or you have a question of comments, please feel to comment below.
I tried a little different approach on this video as I try to streamline these tutorials. I've tried to include more videos where it's helpful. I apologize ahead of time for any flaws in the video and also for my hands that occasionally get shaky while I'm doing little tasks within the video. It's something I really can't help and it gets worse the more fatigued I am. Also, remember, I'm in my 50s! I'm no spring chicken!
