Since doing the magnetic modification to the Weilong GTS 3x3 cube, I've been thinking about doing the same to a MoYu Aolong V2. It's one of my favorite cubes, a bit old school and suffers from occasional corner twists, but really is a nice cube. I'm curious to know how it will act with magnets placed in it. What I've found is the Aolong is much more difficult to perform this mod on. Its cube pieces are multi parted: the corners consist of three parts while the edge pieces consist of two. There is plenty of space in which to place the magnets, but the difficulty will be keeping the epoxied parts safe and undisturbed while the epoxy sets and hardens. With the GTS, this was easy- the cube pieces remained attached to the core. With the Aolong, this isn't possible. So each pair of cube pieces (1/3 corner piece and 1/2 edge piece) will have to have its corresponding magnets carefully epoxied into place, then set aside. It's going to be a challenge but this should be fun. I'll try to get to the project soon.
