Full tutorial on how to embroider little woodland animals using the straight stitch. Will show you how to do a French knot for eye emellishments and how to put it all together for an adorable baby mobile.
Supply List:
Safari animals
-Print out safari finger puppets on Cricut and enlarge each animal to 4.25" (10.8cm) and then send to your printer to cut out for templates.
Woodland animals
-Find woodland clip art #3118097 on google and then enlarge to 4.25" (10.8cm) and then send to your printer to cut out for templates.
-Find leaf and mushroom clip art to print out for templates. I had oak leaves, maples and a rounded leaf.
Choose the colours of DMC embroidery thread to match your animal.
-I used black, white, light grey, dark grey, dark brown, medium brown
Felt pieces:
Squirrel:
Dark brown, light brown, beige, black & rust or orange
Owl:
Light grey, dark grey, white, black, rust or orange
Bear:
Dark brown, Medium brown, tan, black
Raccoon:
Light grey, dark grey, white, black
Fox:
Rust or orange, white, black
Leaves and Mushroom:
Light, medium and dark greens, rust or orang, red, tan
-Small sharp pointed paper scissors
-Small sharp pointed fabric scissors
-10" (25.4cm) embroidery hoop from Michaels
-6 yds/m of beige 100% cotton mercerized crochet cotton. Plus enough to hand from your ceiling or a baby mobile stand or clip.
-Bead Landing value pack of small wooden natural beads. Bought mine from Michaels
-a couple sewing pins
-envelopes to store your pattern pieces
--Tacky glue from the dollar store or any other brand
-Embroidery needle with a larger eye for embroidery thread
-Large eyed and long embroidery needle to thread the mercerized crochet cotton
-polyester stuffing
