Hi there everyone, and thanks for joining today. As you progress in your leadership, eventually you’ll start reflecting and you’ll wonder, “How do I know whether I’m being successful in a leadership role?” The easiest way to determine whether you’re being successful is to look at the biggest “win” that a leader can have, and that’s when their TEAM is excelling and succeeding. When each team member of yours is reaching their full potential, then you are a fantastic leader. I’m shocked a lot of the time that people don’t see this more clearly. But as a leader, you can’t produce results unless your team does. If your team is unproductive and not reaching their potential, how good are your numbers going to be? Not very good. But if your team is exceeding their potential, if they’re coming up with innovative ideas, if they’re hitting their numbers, then you can’t help but be successful. It’s the old saying, “A rising tide raises all boats”, well you might have the boat with the biggest mast on it and so you’re going to reach higher the more that your team succeeds. So focus on the team, focus on each individual. That’s the important part of leadership. When you can get the most out of each team member, that’s when you know that you’re successful as a leader. Thanks, have a good one everyone.
