It is very important that you have a Raspberry Pi 2 if you try to do this on any other Pi then it will fail to boot. Also at the time of this video you will also need Windows 10 to be able to install and work with Windows 10 IoT Core. This may change in the future.
The video I will show the installation process for Windows 10 IoT Raspberry Pi. It is a pretty straight forward process and shouldn’t be too much of an issue getting it installed correctly. You will find it also has plenty of options for connecting and controlling it. This includes SSH, PowerShell & via a standard web browser.
On your first boot up you may notice that the screen goes blank for a bit. Don’t stress as this is normal behaviour. You will then be asked to select your language. If you don’t have anything to select, then it will automatically select US English and proceed.
If you wish to start making some applications/coding for Windows 10 IoT you will need to install visual studio. This is pretty easy but it can be a bit of a slow process. As I mention in the video it took over 8 hours for the installation to finish.
I hope this video has helped to be able to learn how to install Windows 10 IoT for Raspberry pI 2. If you have come across any issues or that I have missed anything, then be sure to leave a comment below or over at pimylifeup.com.
