VCM is one of the more debated features on Honda's J35 V6 engines. Some owners have driven hundreds of thousands of miles with it operating normally, while others choose to disable it because of concerns about oil consumption, cylinder deactivation and long-term wear.
Here's how I installed a VCM Tuner II on my 2012 Honda Accord EX-L V6 with the J35Z2.
I show the connections, wiring, ECT sensor location, battery connection and where I mounted the controller.
This is what I chose to do on my own Accord after researching VCM and what I've seen firsthand.
Are you still running VCM on your 8th-gen V6, or did you disable it?
