This step-by-step tutorial shows you how to sew a flat felled seam by hand using the whip stitch. Flat felled seams contain 4 layers of fabric and have 2 lines of stitching visible on each side. They are strong, durable and reversible.

This particular seam technique is also the same as the traditional Korean Ssamsol seam, which is used to create patchwork cloths called Pojagi (or Bojagi) by joining together small pieces of silk, or other fine fabrics, by hand.
