This week Plant Lovers, we're all about tiny packages and Mediocalcar decoratum is just that! Strikingly colourful if TINY flowers on a miniature orchid that blooms in mid winter! And like a few of my orchids, it comes from an area that you wouldn't think would produce orchids that could thrive in my conditions; Papua New Guinea! But like Dendrobium victoriae-reginae, Dendrobium papilio and Dendrobium rindjaniense, Mediocalcar decoratum comes from high altitude cool cloud forests and as long as I manage any extremes of heat in summer, orchids from this sort of environment can do really well for me!
