This week Plant Lovers, a first time bloomer for me; Cochleanthes Amazing! And it is...AMAZING! It's a primary hybrid between Cochleanthes flabelliformis and Warczewiczella amazonica with the most incredible, large and beautifully coloured flower. I've had the plant for a year now so in this video we'll look at the care and conditions I'm giving it; light, potting medium, water and fertilising; with the caveat that it is a work in progress as...my leaves are crinkly!! I also manage to slip in Bulbophyllum Elizabeth Ann 'Buckleberry' into this video as mine is in bloom with three flowers and I don't need to make another care video about it...but it is taking exactly the same inside conditions as this Cochleanthes Amazing! I bought Cochleanthes Amazing from a plant sale of the Orchid Species Society of Victoria - even though its not a species!! And it proves the point of what a great idea it is to find and join a local orchid group as you will meet people with great knowledge and insight as to what can grow in your area...AND...you'll gain access to fabulous plants!
