Microsoft just announced free extended security updates for consumers 😤
It seems Microsoft realized a ton of people are not going to switch over to Windows 11 as soon as they hoped. So they've given a free option to get the "Extended Security Updates" for a year. The only requirement is that when you initially enroll for the updates, you're signed into a Microsoft account with your Windows settings synced. I think this is so that they can associate the enrollment with your account in addition to the computer itself, so you can re-apply it if you reformat or something. Anyway I show you how the tool works to get the updates, which is currently only in early Insider builds, but will be rolling out to everyone in the coming weeks.
