If your Midwest gas can is not pouring fuel, the problem is often not a clogged spout or defective gas can. Many users don't realize that the Quick-Flow spout requires two actions at the same time before gasoline will flow.
First, press the red safety lock button to unlock the spout. However, pressing the button alone will not allow gas to come out. The spring-loaded spout must also be pushed downward against the fuel tank opening while the can is tilted. When the spout is depressed, the internal valve opens and fuel can flow through the nozzle.

To pour gas continuously, keep the red safety button engaged and maintain pressure on the spout by pressing it against the fuel tank opening. If the spout is not pushed down far enough, the internal valve remains closed and little or no fuel will come out.
