You can filter spam calls on an Android phone by enabling the built-in Call Screening or Caller ID & spam protection features and using trusted third-party apps.
Enable Built-in Spam Protection
Most Android phones have built-in spam detection and blocking features. Steps may vary slightly depending on the phone model and Android version:
Open the Phone app.
Tap the three-dot menu (usually top-right) and go to Settings.
Select Caller ID & spam or Block numbers.
Enable Filter spam calls or Caller ID & spam protection. This will automatically alert you of suspected spam calls and, in some cases, block them before your phone rings.
Use Call Screening (Google Pixel and Some Android Phones)
If your phone supports Google’s Call Screening feature:
Open the Phone app.
When an unknown or potentially spam call arrives, tap Screen call.
Google Assistant will answer the call and ask for details, providing you a transcript in real-time and letting you answer, hang up, or mark as spam.
