Hey folks today I will show you how to figure out the notes of a melody in a song using Cubase 5, 6, or 7, and iZotope RX (free trial version works as well for this tutorial).

**Note: This technique only works with melodies that are fairly distinct, it also works better with bass notes than treble notes. Chords don't work either.

If you're looking to figure out the notes in a crazy guitar solo this tutorial probably won't work. But it still demonstrates some cool approaches to music analysis in Cubase and shows off the basic features of iZotope RX - so give it a watch anyways! :D
