Patiala Salwar - Drafting and Cutting
Hello everyone today I welcome you all to my YouTube channel stitch and swear.
Today we will learn how to draught and cut the full Patiala salwar. Step by step we will cover all aspects and we will learn the most easy way to do it.
I have earlier uploaded a full Patiala salwar cutting and drafting video that is of different length today we are doing a completely different length so let's begin.
Before beginning the measurement let's discuss about the cloth total cloth length is 3.5 metres.
Let's begin the measurement
Total length of salwar is is 37 inch and Mohri is 16 inch as it is double cloth would take 8 inch as a mohri length.
Hip round is required in the salwar because we need to know the losing we need to take for the Patiala salwar.
We will begin with the front of this Patiala salwar. We will put the open and opposite to us. We will hold the cloth by holding corner to corner. We need 6 inch length of the belt in hours Patiala salwar. Total length left is 31 inch. Will add margin of 1 or 1.5 inches for the stitching.
We need half inch for pohncha at the bottom of the salwar.
We will mark 14 inches on all clothes total length for part of the Patiala salwar. The remaining cloth on side we can use it for belt in Patiala salwar.
Now we will start kali cutting. We will begin with double folding the cloth. There should be no Creech on the cloth or else it might vary while drafting and cutting the cloth. Open section is on my right side and closed is on left side. First we will measure the part and mark on the kali cloth. We need to have a crotch 16 inch and add 1 inch as margin for stitching. Similarly on other corner of the cloth we will mark the same 11 inch crotch length. 3 inch is kali width is marked. We will join diagonally both points for drafting and cutting. We will give a curve at crotch and kali width joining.
Belt cutting- we are preparing 6 inch belt. So we will mark 6 inch through the cloth. Hip round is 46 inch and we will add 6 inch for loosing so total hip round becomes 52 inch. And as we have kept cloth in double fold so total marking length Is 26 inch and margin 1 inch is added for the margin. 2.5 inch is added to width of the belt to adjust the elastic for the Patiala salwar.
In this way we are ready the Patiala salwar drafting total cloth length is 3.5 meter. It consists of
1. 4 Kali for Patiala salwar
2. Part for both legs
3. Belt for Patiala salwar
